Boundary Commission Threat to St James

It was confirmed at the end of September 2015 that the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) proposals for changes to Exeter City Council ward boundaries have been accepted despite opposition from Exeter City Council, Exeter St James Forum, the Trust and many local residents. Proposals relating to Devon County Council electoral division boundaries are now expected in January 2016.

From May 2016, subject to parliamentary approval, the new arrangements will be implemented. Exeter will have 39 councillors representing thirteen three-member wards across the city. St James will be incorporated into the new ward of Duryard & St James.
